Dubrovnik

The 'Pear
l' of the Adriatic

Just 17km from Villa Fontana lies Dubrovnik - first time visitors should be prepared to have their breath taken away by the sheer beauty of this magnificent city.  For those who have visited before - this is why you are coming back, and it is just as breathtakingly beautiful no matter how many times you visit!

The old Dubrovnik is a walled city and visitors are able to 'walk the walls' - about 2km along the top of the city - to enjoy the stunning views both out to sea, and down to the streets and rooftops below, where the residents have lived and played for generations.  For panoramic views of the city take a trip to the top of the mountain on the cable car - if there is no heat haze you can see right across to Italy!

But Dubrovnik isn't just about history - beyond the old city lies the newer, vibrant sector with department stores, cafe bars, the marina, and all the hustle and life you would expect of a thriving city, crowned by the beauty and technological brilliance of the ultra-modern suspension bridge.
